Each year the Society of Pediatric Psychology (Division 54 of the American Psychological Association) awards a select number of competitive travel grants to graduate students based on the merit of their submitted research to be presented at the Society of Pediatric Psychology Annual Conference.
Marie Chardon (far right in picture), a third year student mentored by Dr. David Janicke, won a travel award to present her research on “The Moderating Role of Family Functioning on the Relationship between Parental Distress and Youth Disease-Related Quality of Life.” Sarah Stromberg (center in picture), a fourth year student also mentored by Dr. Janicke, won a travel award to present her research on “Family Mealtime Functioning Moderates the Relationship between Youth Body Dissatisfaction and Weight Control Behavior Use.” Rachel Sweenie (far left in picture), a first year student mentored by Dr. Dave Fedele, won a travel award to present her research on “Sleep Disturbance, Quality of Life, and Asthma Status in Youth.” The Society of Pediatric Psychology Annual Conference will be held on March 30th – April 1st in Portland, OR.
