CURRENT GRANT SUPPORT
Diabetes Brain and Cognitive Development – Type 1 (DBCD-T1) is funded by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (U01DK140720). Dr. Driscoll is a Multiple Principal Investigator (PI) and the Contact PI with Matthew J. Gurka, Ph.D., Desmond Schatz, M.D., and Brandon Zielinski, M.D., Ph.D. We will enroll children with new-onset type 1 diabetes prior to beginning puberty to investigate structural and functional brain and neurocognitive changes across the 5-year study. UF is one of 11 participating clinical consortium sites. UF Total Award is $2,198,275 from 8/1/24 to 7/31/29.
