Our students are highly active in research through participation in their mentor’s research as well as through development of their individual programs of research. Trainees are supported in their research development at UF through grantsmanship workshops, research writing seminars, advanced statistical training, and funding to supplement research projects and travel to conferences. Students typically publish in area-specific journals such as the Journal of Pediatric Psychology, Childhood Obesity, and Health Psychology.

Child area students have been highly successful in the research enterprise, with child area students producing numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national conferences each academic year. Our students are successful with obtaining grant awards from the American Psychological Association, Society of Pediatric Psychology, Society of Health Psychology, UF’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute. Additionally, our students are often selected to leadership positions in professional societies (e.g., Society of Pediatric Psychology, Society of Health Psychology).
